Day by Day Itinerary

Assistance at your arrival to Lima International Airport by our representative and private driver and transfer to the selected hotel. Our representative will assist you with check-in procedures and provide you with a detailed itinerary and vouchers covering all the services included in your tour and additional information on the organization of your Peru trip.
You will also receive a contact information sheet with all the hotels information as well as our office's contact information for each city and a 24-hour emergency number. Lodging.
Early this morning our representative will escort you to Lima airport to board your flight to Cusco (1 hour).
Upon your arrival to Cusco's airport you will be met by our transferman who will assist you with your luggage and drive you to the hotel for your check-in. Morning at leisure to rest in your hotel in order to avoid altitude sickness.
This afternoon you will go on a private escorted sightseeing tour of the city of Cusco, archaeological capital of South America. Cusco also has the finest examples of Inca history and architecture. A visit of the city's most important historical monuments, The Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Koricancha Temple, and a visit to the surrounding ruins of the Kenko Amphitheater, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, and Sacsayhuaman Fortress. After the tour you will be driven back to your hotel. Lodging.
Full day excursion to Sacred Valley of the Incas. En route towards the Urubamba Valley, visit Awanacancha, an Andean textile center whose principal objective is to maintain the wealth of Incan textile art alive. Here you we will learn about the dyeing techniques and instruments used for hundreds of years in the weaving of these famous textiles.
Following this, visit the Pisac archeological complex, formed by a collection of remains of Incan dwellings, temples, and terracing, all of which combine perfectly with the majestic landscape of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Continue on to the Pisac Markets where you will have the chance to interact with the local folk and even barter with the merchants.
After having lunch at a local countryside restaurant, end the day with a visit to the Incan fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo.
This fortress was constructed in order to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of tribes from the jungle lowlands, and was later the scene of Incan resistance in 1537, when Manco Inca's forces faced Hernando Pizarro's troops. Your private guide will meet you at your hotel very early this morning. You will be transferred to Cusco train station to board the Vistadome train, for a dramatic train ride to Machu Picchu (6180 feet), the great mountain-top city abandoned by the Inca Empire, reclaimed by the jungle and lost to humanity until its rediscovery in 1911.
The legendary 'Lost City of Machu Picchu' is without a doubt the one of the world's most impressive archaeological sites. Built by the Incas on the summit of "Machu Picchu" (Old Peak), overlooking the deep canyon of the Urubamba river in a semi-tropical area 120 Km. (75 miles) from the city of Cuzco at 7,000 feet above sea level. It sits on a mountain site of extraordinary beauty, in the middle of a tropical mountain cloud forest; Machu Picchu was probably the most amazing urban creation of the Inca Empire at its height, with its giant walls, terraces and ramps, which appear as though they have been cut naturally in the continuous rock escarpments.
Machu Picchu is also one of the Inca's best kept secrets, since they did not left written records and Spanish chronicles make no mention of the citadel, it remains a mystery.
Upon arrival to the ruins, you will begin a private guided tour of the lost citadel.

Afternoon return to Cusco by train. Transfer you to you the hotel. Lodging.

Upon your arrival to La Paz's airport you will be met by our transferman who will assist you with your luggage and drive you to the hotel for your check-in.
PM: HD City tour & Moon Valley. The City of La Paz and its surroundings can transport you to a mysterious past where any corner, any street, is a hidden treasure where adventure begins; a living history which treasures the pre-Hispanic times with all their traditions and magic rites on its streets. The indigenous, colonial and modern areas, Indian Market, Witch Doctor's Market & breathtaking panoramas are all framed by the majestic "Illimani" mountain. Visit the Moon Valley, a clay formation resembling the face of the Moon.
Overnight in La Paz.
Early this morning our representative will escort you to La Paz airport to board your flight to Uyuni (45 min).
Arrival in Uyuni and transfer to the hotel.
Visit to the Thunupa Mountain. This is an extinct volcano, considered sacred by local people, and revered by the Aymara culture. It is one of the most important pre-Hispanic sanctuaries, containing some 24 identified archaeological sites. The nearby populations are very old and typically Andean.
You will also visit the Mummies Museum.
Dinner at the hotel.
Overnight at a salt hotel.
Departure to Colchani, a village where the majority of the salt consumed in Bolivia is produced located about 21 kilometers from Uyuni. The Uyuni Salt Flats is the largest on earth: miles and miles of dazzling pentagons of crystalline salt and the noise of silence makes the heart beat faster. Certainly, there is no place like this on the planet. After visiting "Ojos de Agua" in the border of the Salt Flats, continue to Isla Pescado or Incawasi. Upon arrival, you will visit the Island and have lunch at the local Restaurant.
Isla Pescado (Fish Island): The island, located in the middle of the Salt Flats. Nature here is endowed with a flower of very singular characteristic, a cactus that grows to six meters high. The ground contains fossilized seaweed known as Estromatolitos. There are also some indications of pre-Hispanic culture in the area.
After lunch transfer to the salt hotel on the shores of the Uyuni Salt Flats.

La Paz Airport is located at 25 minutes from any downtown hotel.
PM: HD Visit to Tiwanaku archaeological complex. Tiwanaku culture (1.580 BC-1.000 AD), the magnificent ruins of Bolivia and one of the oldest civilizations in the Americas; the Sun Gate, the Temple of Kalasasaya and the Pyramid of Akapana are the sample of a glorious past. Tiwanaku culture was an agrarian based economy with an estimated population of 115.000 inhabitants. The state controlled agriculture produced the surplus wealth to support the urban centre and administrative system. They were outstanding in agriculture, hydraulic, architecture & medicine, as well as in social organization. Due to an economic crisis caused by a long dry season, Tiwanaku collapsed around 1.000 AD. Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in La Paz
Overland journey from La Paz to Huatajata Port the road runs parallel to the Royal Range of the Andes.
Arrive to Huatajata to experience the Andean Roots Eco Village: The Altiplano Museum, where a state of the art audio system will explain in your own language the cultural heritage of the Aymaras and the Incas, the colonial time and Jacques Cousteau Expedition to Lake Titicaca. Handicrafts and fisherman villages, the Mud Igloos of the Urus Chipayas; meet the Limachi family, builders of the RA II and Tigris for Thor Heyerdhal epic expeditions across the Atlantic Ocean. We will take the Hydrofoil cruise to Moon Island, visit the Sun Virgins Temple Iñak Uyu, where the most beautiful maids of the Inca Empire looked after the Sacred Fire dedicated to their Gods. Continue to Sun Island which has been identified as the birthplace of several revered entities, A source of magnetic energy, the vertex of the earth and the cradle of the Inca Empire. The Sun Island is located on the Bolivian part. Visit "Pilcocaina" or Sun Temple, the best preserved Inca ruins on the Lake. A soft Llama Trek on Inca trails will conduce you to the Posada del Inca Sun Lodge located on the top of the Sun Islands an authentic colonial Country House, now restored into a Sun Energy Powered, Eco-Friendly Lodge, which conserve the magic charm, and the memorable environment of the 17th century. Visit the Inca Stairways and the Sacred Fountain believed to give eternal youth and happiness.
Lunch at the archaeological and panoramic "Uma Kollo" restaurant which interior wall is a "Sukakollo", an authentic Inca scenery of the breathtaking view of Sacred Lake Titicaca Hydrofoil or motor boat to Copacabana, visit the Black Virgin Church.

Buffet breakfast at your hotel. Early in the morning, we will have an unforgettable motorboat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique "Floating Islands" of the Uros. These ancient inhabitants of the lake, known as the Water Tribe, have built their own "islands" by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed called "totora" (Scirpus Totora), vegetable fiber of the Papyrus family. Their homes and boats are also made from th is material. We continue our motorboat trip to Taquile Island, inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have developed efficient and unique social systems down through the generations, as well as fine hand weaving techniques.
Upon arrival at the Town of Taquile we will have a lunch. Then we will walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6 km long Island. In the afternoon, return to Puno. Lodging.
Buffet breakfast at your hotel. Early morning transfer to Juliaca Airport to board your flight to Lima. On the way to the Airport, we will visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani: stone cylinder burial chambers used by the Aymaras to bury their important lea ders. Lake Umayo, located in front of the Chullpas, adds further beauty to the place. You also have the opportunity to observe several local typical birds.
Upon arrival in Lima, transfer to the hotel. Lodging.
Enjoy a half day guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the "City of Kings". The tour includes Lima's Historical Center, passing by Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and its Religious Art Museum. Finally visit the residential Districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing by the Huaca Pucllana, a Ceremonial and Administrative Centre of the Lima Culture built in the II Century A.C. that the Incas considered as "Ñaupallaqta" or Sacred Town.
Also visit El Olivar Park with olive trees brought from Spain in the XVth Century, the Central Park of Miraflores and Larcomar, a symbol of modern Lima and a tourist and entertainment centre as well as a privileged site to enjoy an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean.
The visit continues with a stop at Larco Herrera Museum, for an excellent overview of Peru's ancient past as it holds the best private collection of pre-Columbian art in the country. You will have the chance to tour through this old Hacienda House in the Pueblo Libre district, which was built upon a pre-Incan sacred site (huaca), housing the private collection of a great Peruvian scholar: Don Rafael Larco Hoyle. The museum chronologically exhibits hundreds of ceramic, textile, metal and precious stone pieces and also inside you will find the vault which safeguards precious pieces of gold and silver with semiprecious stones. Another attraction of the museum and of great interest to visitors is the exhibition of erotic pre-Colombian art.

Important Information

During the rainy season (nov/apr) the visit to Uyuni salt lake & Isla Pescado will be possible only if weather conditions permit it.
In order to handle clients a correct information, we kindly request you to advice clients that hotels in the area of the “Uyuni Salt Flats” are rustic and sometimes services are very basic, due to the far-off location with distribution centers, although we always give the best possible accommodation. On the other hand, roads at the Uyuni Salt Flats are not paved and during raining season, the journeys can take longer. Please also remember that hotel classification in Bolivia is local standards, which do not always match international levels.
Please note that ending 2010,the Government had to abrogate a decreesuspending the fuel subsidy. If imposed again, we will be forced to adjust ourratesaccordingly.
