A total eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the Earth, and the moon fully covers the sun. The next solar eclipse will take place on 13th November 2012 and it will be visible in the Galápagos Islands as a partial solar eclipse, meaning that the sun will be partially covered by the moon. This event only occurs during new moon, when the sun and the moon are in conjunction.
Book your Galápagos cruise now aboard the M/V Santa Cruz (10-14 November), Yachts La Pinta (9 to 16 November) or Isabela II (13 to 19 November) and don't miss the chance to see this wonderful event from this natural paradise.
Fundación Galápagos has been chosen by Coca Cola to participate in the campaign “Every bottle has a story” for its commitment to making a positive difference to the Islands
