El Chaltén is a western location of the province of Santa Cruz and it is located at the south of the Andes Mountain Range, in the Southeast side of the Patagonia Argentina, on the foothill of the Fitz Roy (also called Chaltén) and on the shores of the Río de las Vueltas. It is a small touristic village founded in the Glaciers National Park.
In this small but imposing landscape, you can enjoy some nice days in a typical estancia, where you can choose between a wide range of adventure tourism activities that will turn your stay into a unique experience and an unforgettable adventure.

Itinerary

Day 1: El Calafate- Estancia Helsingfors

Arrival at El Calafate Airport. Assistance on arrival by one of our representatives, who will take you to the Estancia Helsingfors. Our representatives will help you with the check-in procedures.

The Estancia Helsingfors is surrounded by majestic natural scenery, protected by a thick grove that opens a panoramic view of the lake, the Fitz Roy Hill and the Andes Mountain Range. It has 8 rooms with private bathroom, decorated with a great taste, combining colours and textures that harmonize with the ambience.

Day 2: Estancia Helsingfors

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will have some free time to enjoy the activities at the Estancia, such as: horseback riding, trekking, navigation towards the Viedma glacier and navigation and trekking towards del Morro Lagoon, among others; while enjoying a moment of peace and tranquility in a natural and typically argentine ambience.

Day 3: Estancia Helsingfors

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will have some free time to enjoy the activities at the Estancia

Day 4: Estancia Helsingfors - El Chaltén

Breakfast at the Estancia. At the set time, transfer to El Chaltén to enjoy the activities that are offered there.

Transfer to Hostería El Puma. Assistance on arrival by one of our representatives, who will help you with the check-in procedures.

Hostería El Puma is a place thought for those who enjoy the nature in an active way. At the foothill of the Fitz Roy and Torre Hills, in the heart of the Glaciers National Park you can find El Chaltén, national capital of trekking; place chosen by travelers from all over the world, who arrive to do the most varied circuits of trekking and horseback riding. "Terray", the restaurant, is the place where some of the most delicious flavors of the Patagonia are mixed and combined to be enjoy as perfect as they are; the best flavors of mountain with a majestic cook that seduces each one of its guests; from Patagonian lamb to rainbow trout, its dishes are a delight to the senses.
The Puma has 12 rooms decorated with very good taste and perfectly designed to find comfort and relax after a complete day of adventure tourism activities.

Day 5: El Chaltén

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will depart to do an unforgettable trekking on the ice in the Viedma Lake zone.
The tour will start with navigation through the Viedma Lake to start, later, a trekking with crampons on the glacier, walking among cracks, drains and other points of interest in the Viedma Glacier.
At only 17 km to the north of El Chaltén, you can find the small and picturesque Bahía Túnel port (Tunnel Bay) . It is situated in a natural bay, at few thousand meters from the delta that forms the river.
You will navigate through the bay to the south. The depth of the lake allows having a nice navigation near the coast, observing the massifs of the Fitz Roy and Huemul Hill. Arriving at Cabo de Hornos (southeast extreme of the Ventisqueros Field) the boat turns west and meets with the breathtaking view of the imposing Viedma Glacier.
During the navigation you will be able to watch big icebergs, the light blue colours of the sky and 40 meters high walls, standing above the lake level. This area is the perfect place to have the briefings about glaciology given by experienced guides.
Disembarking in the rocky promontory facing the Viedma Glacier.
There you will walk around the land that, years before, was occupied by the glacier. After some minutes, you will arrive at the border of the glacier where you will have to put on your crampons to ascent this amazing work of nature.
Finally, you will trek for two hours and a half, on the Viedma Glacier. The trekking guides are in charge of the security of this walk and they will share their knowledge about this area with you. During the trekking you can find sinkholes, crevices and caves.

Day 6: El Calafate - El Calafate

Breakfast at the hotel. At the set time you will be transferred to El Calafate to take a flight to return home.
