The best in South America – according to Travel + Leisure
Travel + Leisure magazine in the United States recently published its round-up of its readers votes in the "World's Best Awards" in 2010. We were delighted to hear the Galápagos Islands have regained their position as Number 1 Island in the world, while Buenos Aires, Cuzco and Quito came second, fourth and ninth respectively in the Best City category in Central & South America.
In terms of hotels and the countries where Metropolitan Touring operates, Buenos Aires's offering proved very popular, with several of its hotels coming in the Top 10 for Central & South America. For resorts, the two near Machu Picchu (Sanctuary Lodge and Pueblo Hotel) were popular among readers, followed by the Llao Llao Hotel & Resort in San Carlos de Bariloche.
