Metropolitan Touring Peru is pleased to confirm that repairs on the railroad Cusco (kilometer 0) - Machu Picchu (kilometer 110) have been completed and the railway was fully reopened on Friday June 25th, operating normally from Cusco, Poroy and Ollantaytambo stations on July 1st. However, trains might comply with some speed restrictions during the first three months (July, August and September), since the newly-laid track must settle into its new bed.
This means that by July 1st the access to the Inca citadel will be 100% operative and train schedules will resume their itineraries, including the Hiram Bingham train.
Metropolitan Touring Peru will continue communicating all relevant information and will send updated itineraries as they become available.
