In the last months, the Metropolitan Touring Ecuador Team has been intensely working to prepare a new and very attractive program for guests to enjoy a truly Andean Experience - a 4 day/3 night overland by road from Quito to Cuenca- that has been named "The Spirit of the Andes".
It includes not only the awesome scenery of the Ecuadorian Andean Region, but visits to centenary Haciendas, the highland moorlands of Cotopaxi National Park, the quaint and popular village of Baños; Cuenca, Ecuador's most beautiful city and a World Cultural Heritage Site, plus the opportunity to be in contact with the people and the projects of the Indian communities.
It is being offered on private or shared basis, as of June 7, 2010. On this same date, Metropolitan Touring, after a careful evaluation of the current conditions, will stop the operation of its programs involving the railway for the remainder of 2010.
Guests will thoroughly enjoy "The Spirit of the Andes", a four-day immersion into the Andean World, a journey along the history, the spirituality, the Andean flavours, the customs, traditions and legends of the ancestral peoples of the Ecuadorian highlands.
