“Oh, someday I’ll make it to the Galapagos Islands… it’s just that my kids are still too young”.
So when are we old enough to enjoy the Galapagos Islands?
“Well, maybe I just don’t want to go so far when all my toddler is going to do during the Galapagos cruise is make sand slushies on the beach.”
You mean, your toddler will get as much out of the Galapagos as he does out of your local park’s sand box?
“Exactly, plus I’ll probably stay the whole time on the cruise ship.”
Why would you do that?
“I’ll be stressed out… a turtle might eat my child… he must be bite size for those monsters.”
You mean, the giant tortoises… but they’re vegetarian.
“What about the iguanas?”
They’re also vegetarian.
“Well, something… anything might go wrong.”
Accidents can happen anywhere… but first rate Galapagos cruises come complete with extra safety and security.
“Ok, maybe it isn’t that dangerous, but I want to wait until my child can remember his experience there?”
Why would you do that? Experiences that bypass the mind stay in our hearts.
“Is that right?”
Yes, I’m sure of it. The Galapagos Islands are a great place to begin a twenty-first century child’s education. They will see nature at its purest, they will be introduced to the notion of environmental responsibility, and they’ll love the beaches, discover new, magical landscapes, and of course, see a lot of animals. Just enjoy the experience with them. Your admiration and amazement will be an inspiration.

Happy Birthday! Every year we would take the boat to Roche on the 4th of July and stay over the long weekend. As we head up from Seattle we put down crab traps and pcekid them up on the back! So many great times spent in the San Juan Islands and Bainbrige Island. It looks like you had perfect weather! Thanks for the wonderful postcards a little snippet of home ~Kristine
